Liberty Fabrics’ Sir Peter is lustrously detailed and rich in color – printed in Liberty’s Italian fabric mill, on the inimitable Tana Lawn cotton.
Sir Peter is a fun-filled novelty conversational print, where knights parade through the medieval countryside. Rotary screen printed here in eight colors, the design pays recognition to the Knighthood received by Arthur Lasenby Liberty in 1913 for his services to the applied and decorative arts.
For Autumn/Winter 2019’s Aesthetic Renaissance collection, Liberty Fabrics’ in-house design team drew inspiration from the adventurous life and artistic inspirations of our founder, Sir Arthur Lasenby Liberty. Traveller, tastemaker and gentleman, Arthur’s passion for globetrotting and treasure-hunting with his wife Emma forms the basis of Liberty’s enduring appeal. Inspirations swing from expeditions in faraway lands to the peace and quiet of English country gardens, via the opulently stylised forms of the Aesthetic Movement and Art Nouveau styles.
