Pants Fitting

Discover the secrets to achieving superior pant fit by using a combination of flat pattern and draping techniques. Learn how and where to measure the body and pattern, how to make adjustments to the pattern and how to tissue fit any style of pants. Choose any pants pattern and get a perfect fit. Be prepared to be measured and to try on the tissue pattern. You will leave with a pants pattern ready to cut and sew.

Supply List
You will be trying on the paper pattern in class to fit. Do have on the type of undergarments you plan to wear with your pants. Choose the pants pattern of your choice. I recommend Burda patterns for their precise drafting and great fit. The pattern should include the size that fits your fullest measurement below the waist - tummy, hips or thighs.

You will also need:
- paper scissors
- pins
- measuring tape
- seam gauge or 6" ruler
- ruler
- pen or pencil


REGISTRATION:

• All classes are held at Josephine's Dry Goods, 521 SW 11th, in downtown Portland.
• Class fees must be paid at the time of registration. Cash or check (made payable to the instructor) is preferred, but you may also use your credit card.
• Classes may be cancelled if there are insufficient paid registrations.
• 48 hour cancellation notice required prior to first class for registration refund.
• Please plan to attend all sessions; there are no make-up classes.
• Students qualify for a 10% discount on purchases at Josephine's Dry Goods during class session.
• Sewing machines available upon request at no charge for use during classes.
• We recommend the parking garage at the First Presbyterian Church on the corner of 12th and Alder, if you don't find on-street metered parking.
